Forum99 Addresses the Issues of
a $14 Billion Industry: Residential Technologies and Services in "The Digital
Millennium"
Industry executives pursuing
business opportunities in the deployment of residential technologies and services will
meet at Forum99: Defining the Digital Millennium to address the opportunities
and challenges facing this industry. This cross-industry event will be hosted by Parks
Associates on October 25-27, 1999, at The Westin Mission Hills in Rancho Mirage,
California. Parks Associates projects that the annual market size for home electronics
systems and components including security, custom-installed entertainment, data and
entertainment home networking, and home controllers, will exceed $14 billion in five
years.
"Forum99 provides a state-of-the-nation overview of
the current and anticipated household demand for emerging electronic systems, products,
and services," said Parks Associates president Tricia Parks. "It is the one
cross-industry event that allows participants from industries such as entertainment,
telecom, energy, security, controls, networking, and computing to learn of peer activities
across the board."
Forum99 keynote opener is Oren Harari, author of Leapfrogging
the Competition: 5 Major Steps to Becoming a Market Leader. Other speakers of note
include Anthony Woods, CEO of Replay Networks Inc.; Jim Schraith, President and CEO of
ShareWave Inc.; Randy Luther, Vice President of Centex Homes; Bill Kenney, Vice President
of Home Systems Strategy and Business Development for Sears Roebuck & Company; Glenn
Edens, Vice President for Broadband Technology at AT&T; and Jim Badum, Senior Vice
President of Consumer Services at Enron Energy Services.
"The changing face of business is now looking at the residence as a giant target
for digital distribution of commerce," said Tom Hite, vice president and general
manager of Panjas consumer division. "One does not need to look far to see the
fundamental shift occurring in the distribution of entertainment, business to consumer
commerce, and partnering strategies. Panja is a proud sponsor of Forum99 as
Parks Associates leads the way again - transitioning from the brilliance of underlying
technologies to the business issues we face."
Forum99 will be co-located with the EIA Fall Conference and CEMA
Management Forum, providing the opportunity to network with as many as 600 representatives
and access to product displays and technology demonstrations at both events.
