Parks Associates to support Digital Living 2006: Trends in Digital Home and Lifestyle

Executive Conference held as part of imbX, Asia’s largest infocomm and media event

Parks Associates today announced support of Digital Living 2006: Trends in Digital Home and Lifestyle, a one-day executive conference held June 22 at the Singapore Expo in conjunction with CommunicAsia, Enterprise IT, and BroadcastAsia.

Digital Living 2006: Trends in Digital Home and Lifestyle is produced by Singapore Exhibition Services (SES) with the support of Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA) and Parks Associates, a global market research company. This executive conference and showcase is part of The Infocomm Media Business Exchange (imbX), Asia’s largest infocomm and media event, which takes place June 19-23, 2006, in Singapore.

“Parks Associates has spent much of the last eighteen months researching adoption of consumer products and services in Asia as compared with the rest of the world,” said Stuart Sikes, president of Parks Associates. “This unique conference brings together thought leaders of digital living technologies in Asia and provides an invaluable opportunity to build international alliances.”

Recent research from Parks Associates’ Global Digital Living™ (GDL) indicates Asian Internet households show substantially more interest in networked IPTV features than do their North American and European counterparts. For example, 53% of Internet households in Asia are interested in the ability to pull digital photos from a computer and display them on a TV. This finding compares with just 43% in Europe and 28% in North America. Similar patterns emerge regarding other networked features such as surfing the Web and sending messages via a TV.

Digital Living 2006: Trends in Digital Home and Lifestyle is an executive conference featuring leaders from global PC, consumer electronics, and service companies discussing the future of the digital home and connected consumers. The conference is a networking venue for leaders in global consumer technologies and companies looking to establish a foothold in the burgeoning Asian technology markets.
