Adoption of High-Definition TVs and Services

AN INDUSTRY REPORT FROM PARKS ASSOCIATES
by Deepa Iyer, Analyst

Publish Date: Nov 05
Purchase Report Online

SYNOPSIS

HDTV raises the television experience to a new level. Consumers, especially those with more than one TV, are interested in high-definition content. This interest presents great opportunities for service providers, various vendors, and solution providers in the delivery and support of high-definition TV and content. This report provides insight into the HDTV market and offers recommendations to service providers to better position their offerings and maximize ARPU.

“Despite the great buzz that surrounds high-definition displays and service, it is still a minority of consumers who understand its value,” said Deepa Iyer, a research analyst at Parks Associates. “To drive this market beyond the early-adopters, service providers and display vendors alike must clarify HDTV’s value to consumers beyond ‘digital TV’ and more towards a heightened viewing experience.”
