Channel Monitor 4Q2007 - Channel Quantification Study
A multiclient FROM PARKS ASSOCIATES
By Daryl Delano, Director of Research, EH Publishing, and Bill Ablondi, Director, Home Systems, Parks Associates

Publish Date: 1Q 08

SYNOPSIS

This study provides a quantification of sales through the home systems integration & installation channel in 2007 and an assessment of dealers’ outlook for 2008. Key installation parameters for each category are reported and compared to prior years for perspective. Product categories covered: Multi-room Audio, Home Theater, Control and Security Systems, and Media Servers. In addition, total sales volumes for 2007 are reported and broken down by major category.

“Despite the severe and still-ongoing contraction in new home construction, home systems integrators are cautiously optimistic about continued sales gains in 2008,” said Daryl Delano, director of research for EH Publishing. “Home systems integrators have benefited from the fact that approximately 50% of their business comes from installation work within existing homes.”
