Parks Associates To Present New Industry Research on Social Gaming at Game Investment Conference 2011

Parks Associates will present key findings from a recently completed global study on social gaming at the Game Investment Conference (GIC) on Wednesday, April 13, in Austin, Tex. The conference follows AMD's Game On! Texas event on April 12.

“With more than 200 million people playing games on Facebook every month, social gaming has become the most visible category of online gaming,” said Pietro Macchiarella, Research Analyst, Parks Associates. “A significant share of the global population lists games and social networking as their top primary forms of entertainment. While Facebook’s dominance is both a driver and an inhibitor for the social gaming market, revenues from virtual items and advertising will keep growing exponentially in the next few years.”

New research from Parks Associates' report Social Gaming: Market Updates reveals worldwide revenues of social gaming surpassed $1 billion in 2010 and will exceed $5 billion in 2015.
