Parks Associates' Connected Health Summit: Consumer Engagement and Innovation returns on Tuesday, August 31, for the sessions: Virtual Health and Remote Monitoring and Connected Health Business Models from 11 AM to 4:15 PM CT. Michael Braham, SVP & General Manager, Trapollo, A Cox Business Company, is featured as the Visionary Insight speaker during the session Connected Health Business Models at 2:15 PM CT and will address the shifts in healthcare as the market moves towards a value-based care system and as technology allows for new applications, services, and appeal of healthcare services in the home. Prior to the session, Michael provided insights on how consumer behavior has shifted regarding connected health devices as a result of COVID-19:
How has COVID-19 impacted the connected health market?
COVID-19 accelerated the market by what we expected to take five years in 5 weeks. COVID-19 has shed light on the need, want, and overall benefit that connected health can bring to healthcare organizations and patients.
How have consumer attitudes towards connected health solutions shifted in the last year?
COVID-19 forced all participants in the healthcare landscape to use connected health solutions, which allowed patients to see the ease of use and convenience that is associated with these solutions. Patients were already beginning to demand a better patient experience, and connected health delivers on that demand.
Will shifts in consumer behaviors related to fitness, wellness, chronic care management, and care for senior populations outlast the COVID-19 crisis?
We hope so. Digital health solutions enable consumers/patients to take more ownership of their health and wellness, along with giving healthcare organizations a wider scope into a patient's full health story.
