What are the best use case scenarios for voice technologies in the smart home?
With voice-activated smart lighting, you can have hands-free help throughout your home. Ask your voice assistant to turn the lights on as you enter your home; if your arms are full of groceries, you no longer have to strain to hit the light switch on the wall. Or ask your voice assistant to turn off/on your lights from the comfort of your bed; you no longer have to navigate your bedroom in the dark to find the light switch. Voice technologies are one way to make controlling your home’s lighting simple and convenient.

How can the quality of life for seniors be impacted by smart home solutions?
Smart lighting, in particular, can have a profound impact on seniors’ well-being, as well as their comfort and safety. It can help ensure a natural circadian rhythm and promote a good night’s sleep. Seniors can also adjust their lighting’s level to give them the best visibility for their daily activities.
Smart lighting can offer extra peace of mind in a number of ways, too. For example, with hands-free lighting controls, such as a voice assistant or a motion sensor, seniors can easily navigate their homes, especially at night. You can even set timers and have your lighting remind you about taking your daily medication, and pair it with other smart home technologies like smoke detectors to enhance the alarms.
