Clearleap announced today that Peter Ansel, VP Business Development, Clearleap, will be participating as a speaker at the upcoming CONNECTIONS™ at TIA, June 5-7, 2012, at the Gaylord Texan. Mr. Ansel will participate in the session “Connected Consumer Electronics as the Set-top Box,” on Wednesday, June 6 at 2:30 P.M.
The interactive panel session, moderated by Kurt Scherf, Vice President and Principal Analyst, Parks Associates, examines the opportunities created in the connections between connected CE and provider-based services. According to research from Parks Associates, total sales of video and audio connected consumer electronics products worldwide will be more than 292 million units in 2012 and grow to more than 760 million units by 2016.
“CONNECTIONS promises to be an open, dynamic forum for sharing ideas and insights,” said Clearleap CEO Braxton Jarratt. “On his panel, Peter Ansel will discuss questions such as how TV Everywhere delivery approaches fit within the framework of existing pay-TV delivery and management systems and what are the economics for using connected consumer electronics as supplements or replacements to a standard set-top box.”
CONNECTIONS™ focuses on innovative solutions for the connected consumer and leading strategies to monetize digital content, mobile applications and services, value-added services, connected consumer electronics, and home systems. The conference features research sessions on OTT video, mobile and product apps, connected CE, and the connected home.
“We are excited to hear from Clearleap about the new opportunities in the market,” said Stuart Sikes, President, Parks Associates. “CONNECTIONS™ provides a holistic view of the connected home ecosystem and an in-depth look at the individual market segments.”
