Twenty-eight percent of U.S. broadband households are comfortable designing their own care plan

Research firm to present webcast on disruption and innovation in digital health markets

New Parks Associates research shows that 28% of U.S. broadband households are comfortable designing a care plan for themselves and 27% are comfortable selecting a health monitoring device for personal use. Parks Associates will discuss its consumer healthcare research and its implications in the complimentary webcast “Disruption and Innovation in the Top-three Digital Health Markets” on Thursday, July 28, at 1:00 p.m. CT.

“Consumer comfort with health IoT innovations is an important step in the consumerization of healthcare, for their participation and engagement are critical to the success of the entire ecosystem,” said Harry Wang, Senior Director of Research, Parks Associates. “That is why patient communications and educational solutions are one of the three key areas in the digital health markets, alongside virtual care solutions and consumer fitness and wellness.”

During the webcast next Thursday, Wang will examine leading technologies and trends in digital health, identify winning business strategies of breakout players, and discuss current innovations and their impact on venture funding cycles. Parks Associates will also preview key topics for the third-annual Connected Health Summit: Engaging Consumers, August 30 - September 1, 2016, at the Omni Hotel San Diego.

The webcast draws topline research findings from Parks Associates’ 360 View: Empowering Healthcare Consumers and Connected Health Tracker Service and analyzes the three leading digital health solutions areas:

  • Virtual care solutions
  • Consumer fitness and wellness
  • Patient communications and education solutions

“The expansion of connected healthcare has reached a point where these solutions have to accommodate a variety of different consumers with varying conditions, health goals, and capabilities,” Wang said. “IoT technologies make that possible but not without the active engagement of the end users and their caregivers. Parks Associates developed our detailed consumer segmentation specifically to assist companies through this stage in the healthcare industry, and we will introduce this research in the webcast and discuss it in depth at Connected Health Summit.”

Webcast registration is complimentary, and all registrants will receive presentation materials after the event. Register at http://www.parksassociates.com/health-2016.
