40% of U.K. smart home shoppers are likely to adopt new devices as part of a security or control system

Jason Paris to present new research at Integrated Systems Europe

New consumer research from Parks Associates shows that in the next 12 months, over 40% of U.K. broadband households likely to adopt new connected devices, including smart door locks, sensors, and security cameras, will purchase these products as part of a home security or control system that can be monitored or controlled by a smartphone, tablet, or computer. The firm’s Connected Consumer in Europe project also found that ownership of home control systems is 10% of broadband households in France and Spain, 8% in Germany, and 11% in the U.K.

The international market research firm is supporting Integrated Systems Europe, 9-12 February in Amsterdam,and will present insights into the growth of the home systems markets in Europe and worldwide during the session “Competing with Mass-Market Smart Home Systems”in the Residential Theatre on 12 February. Adoption of Home Control Systems

“Consumer intention to purchase devices and integrate them into home systems continues to be a growing trend across Western Europe,” Paris said. “Mass-market smart home products and services are now available through numerous channels, including security dealers, telecoms, and retail stores, and both mass-market and custom-installed systems are seeing substantial growth as the combined marketing efforts of all channels are improving awareness.”
