Parks Associates, ADT Health, and Philips provide insight into smart home use cases for connected health

Research firm reports 15 million U.S. broadband households own a connected fitness device

Following the success of the Connected Health Summit: Engaging Consumers earlier this month, Parks Associates will host the industry webcast “Connected Health in the Smart Home: Use Cases and Partnerships” on Tuesday, September 29, 11:00 A.M. CT. The event features executives from ADT Health and Philips and offers expert insights into the unique crossover opportunities between the connected health and smart home industries.

Our research shows 15 million U.S. broadband households own a connected fitness device, which creates a new point of opportunity where nontraditional players can connect their smart home offerings to healthcare solutions,” said Harry Wang, Director, Health & Mobile Research, Parks Associates. “Smart home offerings such as security monitoring have obvious parallels to home-based health and wellness solutions as well as independent living products and services. Our connected health webcast will explore these new growth opportunities and share many of the key points from our successful Connected Health Summit.”

Connected Health in the Smart Home: Use Cases and Partnerships” features presentations from Paul Adams, Senior Director of Product Management for Home Monitoring, Philips, and Don Boerema, Chief Corporate Development Officer, ADT Health. Wang will then moderate a discussion addressing the leading connected health use cases in the smart home and examine innovative collaborations among technology companies, smart home service providers, and health solution vendors.

“One-third of U.S. broadband households plan to purchase a smart home device in the next 12 months,” said Wang. “Companies can tie healthcare services to these connected devices, creating new business opportunities for service providers, technology companies, and device manufacturers.”

The webcast will also discuss the right partnerships to pursue for new market players and the different strategies necessary for engaging healthcare consumers. Webcast registration is complimentary and a recording will be available after the event. Register online at http://www.parksassociates.com/health-webcast.
