CONNECTIONS™ Europe: IoT and the Connected Consumer addresses voice-first strategies driving smart home adoption
Parks Associates research shows that 55% of U.S. broadband households find it appealing to use voice control to control or understand the status of connected devices. The international IoT research firm will address voice-first strategies and use cases driving adoption of connected products in Europe at the 12th-annual CONNECTIONS™ Europe: IoT and the Connected Consumer, 1-2 November 2017 at the Amsterdam Marriott Hotel.
“The act of ‘waking up’ a personal assistant by simply calling its name is a natural and intrinsic way of interacting with devices and has facilitated a robust user experience,” said Dina Abdelrazik, Research Analyst, Parks Associates. “The strong consumer response to voice control and voice-based technologies is driving ecosystem players to expand the voice-first landscape, as voice provides a natural gateway to smart home products. Integrating voice-enabled capabilities and features will lead to greater smart home adoption throughout the U.S. and Europe.”
Abdelrazik will moderate the session, “Voice: The Leading Smart Home Interface,” at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, 1 November. The session evaluates how companies are using voice control to generate new enthusiasm for smart home solutions and addresses ecosystem strategies around the voice-first experience. Joining Abdelrazik on the panel are the following speakers:
- Avi Barel, Business Development Director, ULE Alliance
- Tali Chen, CVP, Corporate Development and Chief Evangelist, DSP Group
- Lee Crossley, Chief Software Officer, Presciense Ltd.
- Jim Hunter, Chief Scientist/Evangelist, Greenwave Systems
The session “Platforms: Unlocking Value for the Smart Home,” at 10:45 a.m. on Thursday, 2 November, will examine strategies to align user experiences with expectations, evaluate new use cases for product owners, and assess monetization strategies for connected IoT platforms. The session, moderated by Erik Overbeeke, European Research Associate at Parks Associates, will feature the following speakers:
- Bernd Grohmann, EVP, eQ-3 AG
