Fifth-annual Connected Health Summit to include sessions on holistic sleep tech solutions
New Parks Associates research reports 57% of consumers in U.S. broadband households report having at least one sleep problem. The firm’s Sleep and IoT: Behaviors, Awareness, and Opportunities finds nearly 29 million U.S. broadband households own a sleep tracking product today and more than 50% are willing to buy a sleep tech product, such as mattresses with embedded sleep sensors or wrist-worn wearables with sleep tracking features. Parks Associates will address the convergence of medical technology, smart home, and connected health at the fifth-annual Connected Health Summit: Engaging Consumers, August 28-30 at the Manchester Grand Hyatt in San Diego.
“Lack of quality sleep can lead to a host of chronic conditions, such as depression, obesity, and dementia, which stress the resources of both consumers and the medical industry,” said Jennifer Kent, Director, Research Quality & Product Development, Parks Associates. “A variety of companies, from startups to major IoT players, are experimenting with different sleep tech solutions that will improve quality of life and save healthcare costs both now and in the future. At Connected Health Summit, we will explore the mix of hardware, apps, and personalized services most likely to gain traction with today’s connected consumers.”
Parks Associates will host a pre-conference research workshop, “Independent Living and Wellness: A Growing Opportunity,”on August 28. The workshop session “Holistic Sleep Solutions: Expanding the Ecosystem” at 2:45 p.m. features a panel of industry experts exploring integration among sleep tech and connected products.
